Marist College (Poughkeepsie, NY)
As legend has it, a student named Shelly was killed in the school's cafeteria by her jealous boyfriend. Since her death, she has made her presence known in the dorm building where she used to live, Sheahan Hall. She is a harmless presence. She folds clothes, opens and closes doors, plays with the television and produces occasional bumps in the night. On the campus, there is a grotto dedicated to those who died at Marist. Some think she may be linked to some of the strange occurrances that happen at the grotto.

University at Albany (Albany, NY)
Two of the halls at the University at Albany are said to be haunted; Mohican Hall and Pierce Hall. Mohican Hall is located on Indian Quad and since 1994 it has been said to be haunted by a young ghost that wanders the halls late at night and startles students awake. Pierce Hall is located on Alumni Quad and is said to be haunted by a woman. She has been seen at every point in the year just endlessly wandering the halls. The identity of both spirits is unknown.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges (Geneva, NY)
In room 304 of Hirschon there have been many strange and disturbing reports made. Book are said to fly off the shelves by themselves. The blinds will roll all the way up and then all the way back down all on their own. Once a week, around one in the morning, scratching noises are heard along the walls. Also, occasionally it sounds as if someone is walking around the room and tapping on the desks when there is clearly no one else around. Sightings of apparitions have also been reported in the door mirror.

Marymount College of Fordham University (Tarrytown, NY)
Marymount College, a women's college, was founded in 1907 by Father Gailhac and Mother Butler. It is reported that these founders still roam the halls of the dorms protecting the girls living there. Before the college was built, Sacky House was located on the property. Evil spirits are said to lurk in Sacky parking lot where Sacky House used to be located. The most haunted dorms are said to be Gailhac Hall and Gerard Hall with reports of invisible bed guests, beds shaking and the constant feeling of being watched.

Concordia College (Bronxville, NY)
It is reported that all four dorms at Concordia College are haunted. The stories aren't elaborate but are very simple and classic. Bohm Hall, one of the two female dorms, is reportedly haunted by a girl who was raped in it many years ago. It is not known if she died in the building as well. The other female dorm, Rippe Hall, is said to be haunted by a little girl who lived in a house that was on the property before the dorm or college was built. Feth Hall, one of two male dorms, is said to be haunted by its namesake, Reverend Doctor Henry Feth. He is one of the more unfriendly spirits on campus. Lastly, Sieker Hall, is said to be haunted by a pre-seminary student who died of pneumonia in the building many years ago.
I have friends at this school who live on campus. Several people have said they see odd lights and hear strange noises at night. One friend even said she saw the little girl who haunts Rippe Hall.

SUNY Brockport (Brockport, NY)
Hartwell Hall on the college's campus is reportedly haunted. Hartwell Hall was the first building on the campus and was originally used as a school for teachers, the Brockport Normal School. Reports have mainly been made by the cleaning staff when they are alone in the building. One staff member reported activity on one of the upper floors claiming that it sounded as if doors were opening and closing and there was laughter and voices in the halls. Another reported being touched on the shoulder while cleaning but when she turned to see who was there with her, she saw no one. When she was cleaning one of the ballet rooms, the same woman slipped and fell backwards off her step ladder. She was caught by someone or something and placed gently on the floor, unharmed. There was of course no one physically there. Another report is that in the basement where the pool is located, people have heard unexplained splashing when no one is around.
